Working Teams

Composition

Each Working Team is based at one or more higher education institutions in the Member States and is composed of at least one professor, often supported by one or more senior researchers fulfilling a team or sub-team managerial role, and a number of junior researchers. This breadth of staffing, supplemented by the assistance of its panel of Advisors, contributes ideally to each Working Team commanding research competence in all or nearly all jurisdictions of the Member States.

Advisory Councils

Working Teams are additionally supported by the assistance of a panel of Advisors. These are national experts in the field of private law under review who meet at regular intervals with the Working Teams to advise on the preparation of the Position Papers. Besides offering their specialist insight into the material, they also help prevent at the outset any narrowing of perspective along national or jurisdictional lines. Advisors are also invited to attend and participate fully in the meetings of the Coordinating Group when that Group is scrutinising Position Papers for which the Advisors have given their assistance.
